- What is vinyl decking?
- Vinyl decking is a flexible PVC membrane bonded to a plywood deck. It is both the walking surface and the waterproofing layer, which makes it the usual choice for decks and balconies built over living space.
- Are you an authorized Tufdek installer?
- Yes. Fix Up House is an authorized Tufdek dealer and installer serving Surrey and the surrounding Lower Mainland. We supply the membrane and install it ourselves.
- What does the 15-year warranty cover?
- Tufdek Professional Series membrane carries a 15-year limited product warranty against manufacturing defects that result in water leakage. Fix Up House adds a 5-year workmanship warranty on our installation. Full terms and exclusions are in the written warranty you receive.
- Why does the installer matter for the warranty?
- The Tufdek product warranty only applies when the membrane is installed by or on behalf of an authorized Tufdek dealer, following Tufdek installation standards.
- Can vinyl go over my existing deck?
- Often, if the framing and plywood are sound and the deck drains properly. Worn membrane, soft sheathing or poor slope need to be corrected first. We confirm what is needed during the site assessment.
- What maintenance does a vinyl deck need?
- No staining or sealing. Inspect it once a year, check caulking and seams, keep pressure-treated lumber off the surface and report any leak promptly. That routine is also a condition of the warranty.
- Do you install vinyl decking for strata properties?
- Yes. We work with strata councils and property managers on balcony and deck membrane projects. Share the affected units, access arrangements and approval requirements when you contact us.
